Hair Training Academy Worcester is backed by an award winning college which achieved recognition for ‘Excellence in Hairdressing’ in 2010, followed by ‘Best College’ at the National Hairdressers’ Federation awards in 2011.

Based in Worcester City Centre, our impressive training academy provides all the facilities you need to excel on your apprenticeship course. Our strong links with local salons ensure your training is structured to give you the job-specific skills you need to succeed in the hairdressing industry.

  • Our success rates are great - 81% Success rate in advanced apprenticeships (Level 3) and 77% in intermediate apprenticeships (Level 2.) This is more than 10% above the national average.
  • You get better pay – Research shows that apprentices earn on average over £100,000 more throughout their lifetime than other employees.
  • Earn as you learn – An apprentice must receive a minimum wage of £2.65 per hour. As skills increase, many employers increase wages.
  • Support with job seeking – We give you support and guidance in finding an apprenticeship position in a salon through our links with local employers.

Our apprentice programme

The apprenticeship programme operates on a roll on roll off basis, so apprentices are able to start their training with us at any point during the year.

We offer intermediate and advanced apprenticeships in both hairdressing and barbering, and work with salons across the three counties and further afield.

Whether you are considering an apprenticeship yourself, or you are an employer considering taking on an apprentice we can help.

  • Learn at your own pace and get support when you need it – Your employer and the college will make sure you have support. Their job is to make sure your training fits your personal requirements, offers the skills needed for the job and satisfies national standards.
  • Enter the College’s annual hairdressing apprenticeship awards - judged by well known industry professionals with finalists invited to a glittering awards evening, hosted by a celebrity hairdresser such as Royston Blythe or Patrick Cameron.
  • Take part in educational visits - to hair shows and European Wella International Studios. In the past apprentices have attended demonstrations in New York, Paris, Prague, Rome and Barcelona to see the latest industry techniques first hand.
